God is the creator of man and the legislator of the rules regarding man’s existence. It is He who has determined that a man and woman shall be joined together in marriage and become one flesh. Consequently, He desires that such a union be fruitful and fulfill the purposes for which He has created it. Thus we understand that not only is it important what one does after marriage, but equally important is the mindset and manner in which one enters marriage. It is a holy estate honoring a holy God and must not be treated lightly. As the trends of our world have increasingly affected the church, the practice of recreational dating has become the norm for how one finds a mate and enters marriage. It has wrecked havoc on our families and left many wandering if successful and life-long marriages are even possible. Although God does not detail a set program for finding a mate and having a wedding ceremony, He has given us certain principles that govern the process. The messages in this album were presented at the Wesleyan Pentecostal Church of Washington, North Carolina. We pray they will provide some Biblical guidelines, practical insight, and a basis of study for parents and prospective marriage partners to search the Scriptures and learn what God’s will is for their life. May we refuse to allow the world to influence our principles for building the church and our families and let the Word of God be the final authority.Establishing Biblical Standards of Courtship
